Collection of Sketches by Jean-Pierre Martinez
If the world’s a stage, the play is often little more than a flop. Its author remains unknown, and the supporting roles are the quickest to be forgotten. Between absurdity and farce, the tragicomedy of life unfolds. What matters is not missing your exit…
Dramedies is a collection of six sketches that each, in their own way, explore the blurred lines between comedy and drama, the boundary between fiction and reality, and self-awareness within social and theatrical roles. These plays often portray characters in search of meaning, confronted with a world—or a setting—that wavers, empties, or turns against them.
Among them are: writers facing a creative block, lovers caught in a web of lies, strangers lost in unfamiliar houses, and fictional detectives undergoing a metaphysical autopsy…
Each sketch offers an unexpected twist, a revelation, or a collapse of the setting—both literally and metaphorically.
