Collection of sketches by Jean-Pierre Martinez
In a palliative care unit, a man at the end of his life drifts between waking dreams, hallucinations, and absurd truths. Visited in turn by his late mother, his extraterrestrial wife, a clumsy priestess, an eccentric doctor, an opportunistic banker, a quirky notary, and even Death itself (brandishing a plastic scythe), he navigates a series of encounters where the boundaries between life and death, memory and forgetfulness, reality and imagination become blurred.
Through these ten sketches emerges a tender, ironic, and poetic portrait of a human being facing the final stage of existence – not quite dead, not quite alive, always a little elsewhere.
Balancing dark humour and metaphysical absurdity, the collection transforms the drama of death into a light-hearted, burlesque odyssey towards another world.
