Collection of sketchs by Jean-Pierre Martinez
Ten sketches over a cup of coffee, where humanity contemplates itself across a bar counter.
At the bar counter is a collection of ten short but rich sketches, all set in the same familiar and symbolic place: a bar. Around the counter, a few tables, or a cup of coffee—often too strong or already cold—characters meet and exchange glances. Mostly women, they reveal, in fragments, their disappointments, hopes, sorrows, or memories.
Each sketch stands on its own, yet all are bound by a shared atmosphere: a form of realism tinged with absurdity, a tenderness veiled in sarcasm, and a deep sense of humanity. The bar becomes a space for unintentional confessions, generational clashes, and shared loneliness.
