Collection of sketchs by Jean-Pierre Martinez
Alban and Eve is a collection of fourteen sketches featuring a unique couple—both archetypal and contemporary—navigating situations that range from the intimate to the metaphysical, and sometimes the outright absurd. From the Garden of Eden to the end of the world, via the hardware store of their parents, these two characters oscillate between love and boredom, survival and domestic philosophy, existential vertigo and laughter.
In an undefined space that might be a garden, an island, a house, or a ruined world, Alban and Eve reenact the original myth of humanity—not to found a glorious civilisation, but to reflect on its failures, its flaws, and its absurdities, all while trying to love and live together.
Each sketch stands on its own, but together they form a two-voice tapestry infused with humour, poetry, and disillusionment. A bittersweet journey through the human condition, seen through the lens of a couple who could be the first—or the last.
